My Story
Salt Haven was born out of my life-long love of creating relaxed and beautiful sanctuaries from our homes to allow us to fully replenish and restore from all that is asked of us from modern day living.
I have a particular way of connecting with a building, listening to it and intuitively knowing how it wants to be fully expressed – to be the most supportive shelter it can be. Creating a space that feels deeply personal is about celebrating the unique partnership of the building and the person who lives within it.
I listen deeply – to the building and importantly, to you. I spend time understanding what life looks like for you, the day to day rhythms that create the backbone of your routine. What you really need when you return home. What you’re naturally drawn to. What restores you. And what you’re ready to let go of.
Your perfect design emerges when these two things meet – a beautifully considered home that exemplifies timelessness and longevity. A sustainable creation that will last - and serve you – for many years to come.
I believe so deeply in the importance of living in a restorative environment because this has nurtured my well-being throughout my adult life. I have worked in fast paced, demanding corporate jobs which asked a lot of me – sometimes too much. My homes have always been the constant and where I’ve taken shelter from the storms that life has thrown my way. They have been there to hold me, fortify me and replenish depleted reserves. I believe strongly in the healing power of our homes and it is an honour to create deeply personal spaces for the people I work with.
And I don’t think bigger is better when it comes to home – there is a luxury in the discernment that comes from choosing somewhere that allows you to live life a little more fully. I believe our homes are a vital part of our fulfilment in life but they are not the only part. There is something really freeing about a home that serves all of your needs but doesn’t ask too much. I absolutely love designing smaller spaces to support someone’s life – allowing investment in the finest quality to bring more delight to the day-to-day.
My clients have the same values, they admire quality not only for exquisite craftsmanship, but also because good quality lasts, it allows years of enjoyment and ensures nothing is thrown away. My designs encompass a more sustainable way of living.
